The excitement of reaching your chosen destination after staying at home longer than expected is something different, but amidst the excitement we should not forget that the pandemic is not over yet. Precautions are to be taken even after reaching your destination and in fact on your whole trip. The first thing we should take care of is to make sure we feel well.

Follow COVID-19 guidelines from local authorities when you arrive at stations, airports and ports.

After reaching you hotel, try to open the windows whenever you get the chance for proper ventilation. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, report to medical authorities immediately. While COVID-19 can be asymptomatic, the most common symptoms are fever, dry cough and fatigue, others are not very common like loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, conjunctivitis, sore throat, headache, muscle or joint pain, skin rash, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, chills and dizziness.

If you have these symptoms stay at your accommodation and contact healthcare provider or a COVID-19 hotline to find when and where to go for a test and other necessary steps to be followed.

If you have had contact with any COVID positive patient then also you must consider quarantine and take the test. If you have shortness of breath, or pain or pressure in the chest, seek medical help immediately. Call a healthcare provider or hotline in advance to know the information.

The hotel industry knows how the travelers are concerned about whether proper measures are being followed where they are going to stay or not. Check your hotels website to have an idea on what their precautionary measures are. Some of the best practices followed by the hotel are:

1. Enhanced cleaning procedures, cleaning is done regularly

2. Physical distance recommendations given to everyone and followed by themselves as well.

3. Wearing masks and washing hands of the staff time to time.

4. Isolation and testing guidelines for the staff members exposed to covid patients.

5. Contactless payment

6. Indoor air quality measures like air purifiers
